How to Set up a free, Simple and Secure Bitcoin Wallet Using Blockchain

Your bitcoin Wallet is the equivalent of a bank account but with your money saved in bitcoins. With your bitcoin wallet, you can receive, save and send bitcoins easily from and to any part of the world. You can then, convert your bitcoins to cash whenever you want or make payments online through your wallet.

1.Visit www.blockchain.info on your browser and click on "Wallet" on the Top Navigation menu.



2. Click on “Create a free Blockchain Wallet” at the top left.


3.  Complete the Registration form with a valid Email ID, password consisting of UPPERCASE, lowercase letters, numbers and special characters. Confirm password, agree to the terms of service and Continue.


4. You free Wallet has been created. Click "Get Started" to view your dashboard and set up your wallet.


5. Your dashboard will show your balance (0 BTC) and Settings. Click on "Receive" to see your Wallet Receive ID. Send bitcoins also from here using "Send".


Copy and save your Wallet Receive ID; It is a unique 34 digit alphanumeric address. This is the equivalent of your bank account number.



6. Verify Your Email. Go to the Email inbox associated with your wallet and on the email received from Blockchain, Click on "Verify Email". Your wallet identifier will be required for you to log into your wallet.



This should lead you to the Verification successful page. Click on Wallet to Log in to your wallet using the unique identifier supplied in your verification Email and password earlier created.



7. Back to your bitcoin page. Click on “security center” at the top left. You email is supposed to be verified now, so click on “backup phrases”.



Enter your wallet password and "Submit", then Click on "Print Sheet". This is what the sheet should look like:



Optionally, get a sheet of paper and write the numbered words from 1 to 12. Use “Next 4 words” to get the rest of the words


You will be asked to fill back some of the words displayed earlier. Fill them correctly and click on “finish”. Click on “close” once you are done.


8. Complete this level of Security Settings by Creating a password Hint.

9. Enable Level 2 Security by Linking your mobile to your Wallet. Input your mobile number and Click "Enable two step". This generate a one time password to your mobile number after every log in attempt.



10. Enable Level 3 security by Blocking known Tor IP addresses from accessing your wallet.



11. Now, go to “Settings” by the left. Click on “Security” and scroll down. Click on “set second password” (you will be required to provide this password for every transaction).
Type the password and click on “set password”…..your account is secure to the teeth now.





There you have it, easy to create and secure. The level of security your wallet gets is up to you. 
You can begin transacting with your wallet right away.
